Cuomo, Hochul, James Win Primary

Governor Andrew Cuomo handily won in a Democratic primary against actor Cynthia Nixon. Cuomo’s current lieutenant governor Kathy Hochul also won, as did Cuomo’s choice for attorney general New York City Public Advocate Tish James. While Cuomo and the other statewide candidates who ran with him kept their seats, some former members of IDC in the Senate lost to their primary challengers.

Our latest pop-up podcast is with New York State Attorney General candidate Zephyr Teachout, one of four people looking to win the Democratic nod this coming Thursday.  
Teachout, touting her independence, says she will investigate some of the blurred lines she sees in the Cuomo administration between official government work and politics.  She also touches on the recent back and forths with fellow candidate Sean Patrick Maloney and her reaction to being referred to as "professor" by her opponents.

Teachout Makes Her Case for Attorney General

The Democratic primary for attorney general is a crowded one. New York City Public Advocate Tish James was overwhelmingly chosen as the party's nominee in May but three others are vying for the job, including Zephyr Teachout.
